An Israeli Non Profit Organization

History

In 2007,  Dr. Baruch Elitzur, who lives temporally in NY, received a telephone call from Mr. Elli Gigi who, at that time was a social work student, and lived with his family in  kibutz Magen, which is located near Gaza. Elli shared with Dr. Elitzur the high level of stress that the citizens of Sderot are experiencing, due to a constant barrage of missiles launched from Gaza by the Hamas. He suggested to Dr. Elitzur to duplicate one of his Relaxation CD and to send them to anxious people who live in Sderot. With a donation from “Love of  Israel”, Dr. Elitzur duplicated 2000 copies of one of his Relaxation CD and Elli distributed them to the residents of  Sederot.

In 2007, Nava and Yaron Toor, volunteered to build a website in Hebrew, which aims at guiding Hebrew readers to apply psychological techniques to cope with stress, anxiety, pain and ailments.

In 2009, Mr. Gene Sheiman  initiated the idea to translate the Hebrew website to English, and he volunteered to build it (Less Stress More Happiness).

In 2009, with the help of four friends, Dr. Elitzur established a Nonprofit Organization in Israel. Its name is: “From the Heart.”

 Our Mission

“From the Heart” is an Israeli Nonprofit Organization dedicated to strengthen the resilience of Israeli residents in order to cope with the fact that all the Arab countries that surrounded Israel threaten to annihilate it, and the Hamas organization, which rules Gaza, is launching missiles on Israeli towns.

Organization’s objectives:

Instructing mental health professionals and teachers how to increase the resilience of the people who live in towns that are the target of rockets launched from Gaza by the Hamas.

Guiding Hebrew readers to apply psychological techniques to cope with stress, anxiety, pain and ailments. To establish this goal, Dr. Elitzur launched a Non-Profit website in Hebrew http://www.baruch-elitzur.com . On the website, there are theoretical discussions, case presentations, instructions for relaxation and five audio relaxation exercises that may be downloaded.

Helping teenagers who live in towns near Gaza, such as: Sderot, Ofakim, Yavne, Ashkelon, to feel less stress and more happiness. (Information about the atmosphere in these towns is described in a newspaper article at Israelnationalnews.com.)

Offering individual and group counseling to youths and adults mourning a death, suffering from severe anxiety or  PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). The counseling will be conducted by professionals.

In 2009, Dr. Elitzur contacted the charitable group “Love of Israel Society,” which donated funds towards the duplication of 2000 copies of one of his relaxation CD's. The CD's were given to the citizens of  Sderot, who suffer from anxiety.

From the Heart is giving away Relaxation CD's to physicians, psychologists, social workers and nurses, who work in variety of institutes in Israel. Hoping the professionals will encourage their patients to utilize Relaxation Techniques in order to cop with stress, anxiety and ailments.

Over the years, Dr. Elitzur has spoken in many different organizations in the USA, on the subject of: “Less Stress More Happiness.” At the end of his lectures, he offers people to buy his Relaxation CD's in English. All profits are used to help in the emotional recovery of American & Israeli victims of terror.

While the city of Long Beach, Long Island, NY, was hosting a beachside vacation
for 25 wounded American warriors during July 2009, From the Heart contributed to the project 25 of Dr. Elitzur’s Relaxation CD's in English.

In Sept. 2009, upon request from the "Long Island Crisis Center," From the heart contributed Dr. Elitzur’s Relaxation CDs to their volunteers, who answer the Crisis Hotline.
